The Welcome Company is a local marketing firm based in Apex, North Carolina. We connect new homeowners and residents with trusted local businesses through welcome gifts, doorhangers, newsletters, and referrals. We believe marketing should feel like a warm welcome — not intrusive advertising.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information, and what rights and choices you have.
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
Public property data: name associated with a property, mailing address/neighborhood, home-sale or move-in data (from public records/data providers)
Contact info you give us: email, phone number — for example, when you sign up for a newsletter, scan a QR code on a gift, or click a “Contact me” button.
In-person or doorstep interactions: notes from visits (e.g., interest in vendor offers), whether we left a gift/doorhanger, service preferences you share.
Usage & engagement data: if you visit our website or read our newsletters — your IP (or approximate location), device/browser info, page visits, links clicked, newsletter interactions (opens, clicks).
Vendor or business-partner info: if you’re a vendor or prospective partner, we may collect business name, contact person, email, phone, address, and campaign-related materials.
We collect information only when it’s relevant to delivering our service or when you provide it to us voluntarily.
We use data to:
Deliver welcome gifts and manage logistics (who should receive a gift or doorhanger, manage route planning, track which neighborhoods/homes were visited).
Send newsletters or updates (if you opt in), including local content and vendor highlights relevant to your zip code or neighborhood.
Facilitate vendor referrals — but only when you explicitly request it, for example by:
telling our Welcomer you’re interested in a particular business, or
clicking a clearly labeled “Contact me” or “Yes — have this business follow up” button or form.
Generate aggregated metrics (number of deliveries made, click/impression counts, neighborhood-level engagement) to help our business and vendor partners understand performance — without sharing your personal identity unless you opted in.
Communicate with you (updates, service info, survey, support) if you’ve shared contact info.
Comply with legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations, prevent fraud, misuse, or abuse of our services.
We may share personal information only in limited, transparent cases:
With a specific vendor partner — only if you explicitly asked us to pass your contact info.
With trusted service providers who help us run our business: e-mail/newsletter platforms, payment processors (if applicable for vendor partners), CRM tools, analytics providers, route-planning and delivery services, web-hosting providers, social-listening tools (when used).
If required by law or to protect rights, safety, or comply with legal requests.
If The Welcome Company is involved in a business transaction (sale, merger, acquisition), we would transfer information under privacy-friendly terms.
We do not sell or rent personal information in the sense of “lists of people’s names or contact info sold to third-party marketers.”
We use cookies and similar tools on our website and in newsletters to understand how people engage with our content — to make the site easier to use and improve content quality.
We do not use third-party behavioral ad networks to track you across unrelated websites or to serve cross-site ads.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some site functionality, but you’ll still be able to access core content.
We retain personal data only as long as needed to:
Provide you services (deliver gifts, send newsletters, facilitate vendor requests)
Maintain accurate business records, billing, or compliance documentation
Handle disputes, legal obligations, or requests related to prior activity
If you unsubscribe from our newsletter or ask us to stop contacting you, we’ll keep a minimal record (your email or contact and an “opt-out” flag) so we honor your preference.
Aggregated or anonymized data (for example, total number of deliveries, click counts) may be stored indefinitely, because it doesn’t identify individuals.
You have control over your information. You can:
Opt out of marketing communications or newsletters at any time (via “unsubscribe” or by contacting us).
Ask us to correct any contact info or personal data we hold.
Ask us to delete your data (subject to legal or legitimate business-record obligations).
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
If you live in a state with additional privacy laws (for example, California), you may have extra rights — just let us know, and we’ll comply as required.
Our services are intended for adults and general households. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 provided information to us, please contact us and we’ll remove it if appropriate.
Sometimes our site, emails, or welcome materials may link to other websites (for example, a vendor’s website). We do not control those other sites — their own privacy policies apply.
We encourage you to review them before sharing personal info.
We take reasonable steps — administrative, technical, and procedural — to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. That includes restricting access only to those who need it and using reputable service providers.
While no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure, we strive to follow industry best practices.
